and other ticket offices.
Beguilingly romantic, melancholic, funny, with a touch of sarcasm, honest, never deceptive and, above all, timeless. Only one person writes songs like these: Paolo Conte, the trained lawyer from Asti, the northern Italian town famous for its wine, who can now look back on a solo career of more than 50 years that has captivated audiences and critics alike. Italy’s cult star among the »cantautori« is the voice of Italy, not least thanks to the clandestine national anthem »Azurro«, which he wrote for Adriano Celentano. This concert is a, by now rare, opportunity to witness him on stage.
His trademarks: The smoky, rough voice, a deep wrinkled forehead, his kazoo and an idiosyncratic, beautiful piano style that moves somewhere between jazz, tango, Latin and chanson. Paolo Conte will be accompanied by an outstanding ten-strong jazz ensemble.
